Illusion at IMATS London

In January 2011, Illusion attended the tenth annual International Make-up Artist Trade Show at Alexandra Palace, London. With more than 5000 attendees, this event is one of the biggest gatherings of make-up artists in the world. It is packed with trade stands selling every possible make-up product you could wish for. And a programme of classes and lectures with the some of the top make-up artists in the industry.

We were delighted to meet so many of our readers who came to our trade stand to say hello and check out the Illusion Magazine and our range of books. It was a great pleasure to meet Orsolya Muranyo, the cover artist for Illusion 14 who flew in from Hungary for the event. Cat Finlayson painted model Laurence Caird on the Illusion stand on both days of the show. On the first day she painted an amazing steam punk design with prosthetics made by Rus of Awen Creations. On the second day, she created a woodland satyr with paint and also her innovative glitter tattoos, which you can read more about it Illusion issue 14.

Many other face and body painters were also creating beautiful art work over the weekend. Including John and Anabel Vargas, Einat Dan and Carolyn Roper.

IMATS is an amazing event and well worth a visit. Check out their website for more information www.imatsshow.com
